Master Cleanse Day 11

Well, I finished the cleanse on Thursday and I have to tell you I still feel great. I probably ate more food than recommended in the book, but what I had was just fine. I feel very good.

We started out the day with orange juice and fruit. The fruit is very satisfying. For lunch we had the Lentil-Veggie Soup I started preparing last night. It turned out heartier than I expected, but boy was it delicious! This soup has lots of fiber, so I am hoping it it good for me. We are trying to stay off dairy for the next few days since it's hard for the body to process that right after the cleanse apparently. I must say it filled me up very quickly.

For dinner I made my first vegan dish - Creamy Asparagus Soup. Oh my! That was delicious. I really enjoyed it and even had seconds, which I kind of regret since I felt stuffed afterward. Still no bad side effects.

For a treat we had fruit with soy yogurt. YUM! I am kind of ready to get back to dairy, though, since vegan dairy substitutes seem to be really heavy on the fat front. I will say, however, that they certainly are tasty!

I still have no craving for meat or alcohol, which is good. I feel like my body is kind of getting back to normal. I lost about 15 pounds on this cleanse and I sure hope I don't gain it all back!

You can see both my recipes below this posting, or just click the links below to go directly to them. Once again, they may be too heavy but I had not problem and I actually think the asparagus one would be just fine for anyone.

  1. I am starting tomorrow and I am so motivated by your daily blog. The youtube videos are nice but 10 mins of rambling per day per cleanser is a bit boring to get through. I just wanted to hear/read the start to finish diary of one person who did it, had success, and felt better having done the cleanse. Thanks for being thorough and interesting without being laborious and most of all, thanks for the great post-cleanse recipies, I'm sure they will motivate me WAY more than the "broth" most people are describing.

  2. I am so glad this helped someone. Honestly, I totally felt great after then cleanse. Some advice to remember - it was hardest on weekends for both of us. I just had to remember that this is only 10 days of my entire life which is a super small percentage! I also told EVERYONE I was doing this cleanse and then it became a pride thing for me. Since I was so vocal (on Facebook, blog, etc.) about doing it, I felt I needed to continue and it worked.

For the recipes, honestly, Joey and I really wanted to eat so as you can see we had fruit for dinner on the first orange juice day. I felt fine, but everyone is different and I am certainly no expert!

I really planned out my "end-of-cleanse" meals and that helped me. Some people say they can't think of food because it drives them crazy, but I found it motivating to plan my meals ahead. I looked all over the web for recipes and the ones I made worked out fine for us.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU! Please keep me posted!

  3. im on day 4 of the cleanse, 2nd attempt, 1st attempt lasted 7 days, this time around easier, i've dropped 10 pds in 4 days which is great and feel more clarity good to read others stories, i admire us all for doing it, haha but our bodies are our temples, i love beer and great food mind you, but we all need to cleanse to remind us of the important aspects of life, ourselves

  4. Good for you! I love great food, too, but it really does help to cleanse every now and then to remind ourselves how important it is to take care of ourselves. I am really looking forward to doing this again. I just need to find the right time to start. Good luck!!!
